With hot, dry summers and stony soils, Waiheke is home to boutique wineries that produce unique, high quality wines based on cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec, cabernet franc and the recent move into chardonnay grape varieties. There are Waiheke Island vineyards, wineries and olive groves spread throughout the island.

Goldwater combines old world traditional wine making techniques with modern day technology to achieve outstanding and memorable hand-crafted wines. Their supplying vineyards similarly participate in the Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand Scheme.

Syrah, Montepulciano, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Franc vines are planted over 155 million year old Jurassic rock. Come and taste our hand-crafted single vineyard varietals, 'blush' and rose wines and our premium extra virgin olive oil from our own press at the winery cellar door - open daily from 11-4.

Kennedy Point Vineyard and Olive Grove

The Cellar Door at Kennedy Point Winery is open every day throughout the year, 11- 3pm for wine, olive oil and honey tasting. We will resume our lunch menu from Labour Weekend 0ctober 2010.

Obsidian Vineyard nestles in the coastal hills of the Onetangi Valley. The cellar door is open for 6 months of the year from mid Oct. to Easter and offers visitors the chance to try an award winning range of wines including Bordeaux Blends, Syrah, Montepulciano, Chardonnay, Viognier and Rose.

Award winning olive oils are produced at this stunning olive grove on Te Whau peninsular. Alpacas are bred on the farm and can often be seen grazing under the 500 trees. The Azzuro farm shop offers olive oil tastings and sales plus fine alpaca clothing, tableware and bodycare gifts.
